| This goes out to my dear dentist Written December 8,2006
Ever tried having you teeth cleaned? I bet everyone would agree that they would rather not go through it again, right? All those nerve-wracking "plaque grillers", the bright light exposing the deepest darkest secrets of your moutn and of course the " saliva sucker"- what a perfect combination! If truth be told i'd rather not go through this process. Id' rather muster my courage in other "grandeur exploits". But too bad for me-I have no choice if I wanted my gums to stay healthy.
While I was sitting on that chair trying my best not to concentrate on the pain. My mind somehow drifted to sin and how sin is like a distant relative of your teeth.
FACT #1 If your teeth has big spaces, food are most likely to fill it in unless you clean it extensively, right?
THOUGHT #1 I realized that sin crepts in everytime our mind, heart and body drifts off into hollowness-too much sleeping, idleness, passive life, not being passionate about anything, not looking for ways to serve, not getting involve, apathy, numbness, fear, etc. Like a gas molecule that fills up an entire container, sin would creep every corner, every hidden crevice, every area we would allow it to.
FACT # 2 Brush, floss, mouth wash-is the only way to have long lasting and healthy teeth and gums. Your daily habit determines the kind of teeth you have.
THOUGHT #2 Since sin has the habit of filling up the empty spaces in our lives. We need to have a habit of of having those spaces filled up with the best things
Needeless to say we need to establish a habit of being filled with God's mind and God's heart. Because just a drop of God's heart would definitely fill our lifetime with adventures and exploits far beeyond our imagination.
FACT #3 Have your teeth cleaned at least 2x a year. Despite our best efforts to establish a good set of dental discipline, it is never quite enough
THOUGHT# 3 How many times have you come to realize that you just can never do it on your own? So many times I bet. The truth is wehter we care to admit it or not-we need external help. We need the best people who are experts in their own field to teach us how often we forget the basics of sin.
QUESTION#1 What if I fail to do all these things? The great news is there is a cure for whatever you have failed to do or consider
QUESTION#2 What are the consequences? heavy deposits of tartar and plaque bleeding gums badbreath maybe
THOUGHT# 4 The truth is when we fail to do the basics of brushing, flossing and mouthwash our lives, sin accumulates, deposits and imbeds itself clinging to the very root of our lives-intertwining itself to our very identity.
Later it results to a wayward life, full of pain and consequences. Then we seek help.... But help comes also in a very painful process... Doing intensive cleaning is a very painful process.... Then you are posed with this dillema-Should I seek help and go through another very painful process or Should I stay put and allow myself to just go through the consequences?
The truth is if you want to get back your original life and destiny, then you need to go to the Author, the expert of who you are...
Jesus is the Dentist of our lives. He knows precisely what our teeth (life) ought to look like, preciesly the type of bacteria (sin) that plagues us. But He certainly has the anesthesia (grace) to allow us to reagin our original teeth back!
So dont' forget to visit your dentist today!

What’s great and exciting about my work is that you’ll never know what would come in your way. Because of ministry.........
a. I got to be a cast in a Missions video
b. Got to be on the cover of Ministry update and to top it all

Hehe! One day I just find myself living one of my dreams. J
When I was in college, I was really a big fan of Side A, I even got one small poster at home, with all their signatures-haha. Last July 4, thru the kindness of Joey Benin, we got the whole band of side A for free to be on our freshman concert. So there I was just standing quite Star struck when they arrived. Then eventually finding my voice and the nerve to talk to them-wow! There I was talking to the lead singer of my favorite band-awesome!
But the highlight of this event was that Vega building was literally vibrating when more than 1711 students stormed our 1000 capacity center. The students were literally body-to-body, not minding the heat and sweat of the person next to them. Even greater news was that more than 1300 freshman (almost 65% of the actual population) heard of the gospel and that God has a purpose for their lives.

Me, Cheska and Lianne in front of the "sweaty" crowd!

The crowd inside

The crowd outside

Side for real!!!

Acel on the house
Likewise, not to be outdone the High school ministry also finished their first ever youth service for the year. Last July 29,more than 134 students came from 5 major high school to worship and hear God’s word. More than 56 students gave their lives to Jesus that night and are all eager to undergo disciples. Indeed God is continuously reaching out to the heart of His people, the question that a remains is are we ready for more? |
